Grama Niladhari & Character Certificate

Residence, character, and income certificates are issued through your Grama Niladhari and the Divisional Secretariat. They are commonly needed for jobs, school admissions, bank loans and other official purposes.

How to apply

1. 1Visit your Grama Niladhari with your NIC and state the certificate you need.
2. 2Provide proof of residence / the details required.
3. 3Get the certificate recommended by the Grama Niladhari.
4. 4Where required, have it certified by the Divisional Secretariat.

• National Identity Card
• Proof of residence (utility bill / deed / lease)
• Any supporting document for the purpose (e.g. job letter)
