Vehicle Registration & Transfer

New vehicle registration and ownership transfers are handled by the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT). A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is now required for registration and transfer.

How to apply

1. 1Obtain the required forms and get a TIN from the Inland Revenue Department.
2. 2Submit purchase / transfer documents with the current owner’s details.
3. 3Pay registration or transfer charges.
4. 4Receive the updated registration certificate (CR).

• TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number)
• Purchase / sale documents
• Current registration certificate (for transfer)
• NIC of buyer and seller
